Frequently Asked Questions

What does Midi Enterprises do?

MidiEnterprises is a family of companies that pursue diverse lines of business in the commercial and federal marketplaces. Our current capabilities include construction, corrosion control, healthcare claims processing, military exercise planning, logistics, bulk fuel hauling, facilities management, IT services, call centers, professional staffing services and a great deal more. Above all, Midi Enterprises specializes in business development. We have the know-how and experience to launch, staff, and manage new businesses in virtually any industry and location.

What types of teaming options does Midi Enterprises offer?

Our companies pursue a variety of strategic partnerships: joint ventures and investments, subcontracts, mentor-protégé relationships and acquisitions. The tax and legal exemptions enjoyed by Midi Enterprises as a sovereign, tribally-owned business enable us and our partners to operate at a lower cost and in a more stable regulatory environment than our competition. Three of our companies – Sinew Management Group, MEC Distribution and MEC Energy Services – are SBA 8(a) certified, and thus can provide their strategic partners access to valuable, set-aside federal contracts.

What sets Midi Enterprises apart from other small businesses?

Midi Enterprises is a family of companies wholly owned and operated by the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation. Since opening for business in 1990, Midi has expanded its operations from its Fort Berthold Indian Reservation headquarters into 28 states, the District of Columbia, and locations abroad. We have served nearly two dozen federal agencies, built a portfolio of successful commercial enterprises, and garnered numerous awards for excellence and entrepreneurial success from a variety of organizations including, on multiple occasions, the U.S. Small Business Administration.

What sets Midi Enterprises apart from other small businesses?

We benefit from consistent and diverse leadership. President/CEO Clarence O’Berry joined the company in 1993, and many of our senior executives have been with the company for over a decade. They bring with them the expertise and networks of years spent in the federal government, the tech sector, and the commercial marketplace.
